L and Ms. B
L was surprised last night when her fifth-grade teacher, Ms. B, stopped by unannounced to ask L to go to a play with her. One of L's classmates was in the play and Ms. B planned to take L and her friend, M, because they organized her end-of-the-year class present. Unfortunately, M was stuck at the Seattle Airport due to rain so it was going to be just L and Ms. B for the night. They went to see "The Big Bad" at the Madison Street Theater, a community theater here in Oak Park. L called home after the show to say the play was "great" and to ask if she could accompany Ms. B, her classmate who was in the play and his mom to Culver's for ice cream. We said that would be fine. Ms. B brought L home at about 10:15 p.m. and L was going on and on about how much fun they had. The boy's mom had ordered chicken fingers, fries and cheese curds for the group at Culver's before L and Ms. B even got there. And L loved it all. She even got a concrete mixer with peanut butter cups in it.
