This was on the Seven Mile Bridge yesterday morning on our drive from Marathon to Key West. Pretty rainbow.
After our big adventure yesterday at the Hemingway House we went back to the hotel to swim.
We're not used to the heat and humidity so the water felt great.
We're staying at the Southernmost Beach Resort.
The room is nice and we have a small balcony.
We had an early dinner/late lunch at Sloppy Joes, a bar Hemingway once had part ownership in.
Busy bar and live music.
Food was good. Andy had a Cuban sandwich and I had a fried chicken sandwich.
We weren't going to have a beer but how do you turn down a beer called the Sloppy Hoppy IPA?
There are chickens everywhere. The roosters are pretty (and loud). We were woken up by a rooster at our hotel Saturday morning in Marathon. These chickens were near our hotel in Key West. See the chicks?
We went to a brewfest at our hotel. It started at 5 p.m. and was so hot (and nowhere to sit) that we walked back to our room and went to the pool. swaet was dripping down my fave. We were sweating through our clothes and mascara melted into my eye. It wasn't fun.
We went back to the brewfest in our wet swimsuits at 7:15 and the vendors were starting to close up their tents so they we handing out cans of their beers and other drinks. We got coozies, sunglasses, hats, bottle openers and a T-shirt, as well as enough drinks to more than keep us hydrated for the week. They gave out water too. One vendor handed us his last six-pack. Craziness.
