Anime Midwest
L had quite the weekend. I took her and her friend, T, to Rosemont early Friday for the Anime Midwest convention. Here's L on the right, with her friend, N, on the left and T in the middle dressed as characters from the anime "Killing Stalking." N did their makeup and she's really good. She's also the wig-fitter. They stayed at the Hilton hotel Friday and Saturday nights so they could attend all three days of the convention. N's mom chaperoned and L said they all had a great time. She came home with a cute coffee mug and purse.
Here's L and her friend, N, as characters from "Yuri on Ice" with another girl they met at the convention dressed as a character from the same show. L even used Yuri's name on her convention badge. Apparently using real names is not a good idea.
Another picture of N and L.
Andy and I picked L up from the hotel at noon today to get her to a church friend's house by 12:30 p.m. for a youth retreat in preparation for the upcoming mission trip. After their meeting, the kids hopped in the hot tub while the parents listened to the final details of the trip. (Why didn't any of my youth group meetings end in a hot tub?) Since L is trying not to get her hair wet so the color lasts as long as possible, one of the girls put her hair in a bun for her:
I told L she needs to have the girl show her how to do that when they're on the trip. That will come in handy when we're in Disney!
