Today was B's last full day at home before he leaves for Japan tomorrow! He chose to go to Red Robin for his "final" American meal. He's packed as much as he can, including gifts for his Japanese family - a Blackhawks hat and Chicago coffee-table book for the dad, a Frank Lloyd Wright book and American-printed kitchen towels for the mom; stars and stripe sunglasses, a headband and stuffed animal for the 13-year-old girl; and a Bulls jersey for the 10-year-old boy. And lots of candy for everyone to share. I couldn't let him leave without baking him some chocolate chip cookies. At least I know he'll have something to eat if he doesn't like the food there. He's been pretty adventurous eating lately, though, so I think he'll do fine.
