Lost in Japan
Here's another picture a chaperone posted. B is with his group giving a presentation at a school.
Sensei's update we received this morning:"Yesterday was a good day. People at the school are very nice. Our students were treated like celebrities. They get screams, waves, they are pointed everywhere we go. The kids who take Japanese ... are the kind of kids who are not used to this much attention in the U.S. so it is cute to watch them not knowing what to do with all of the attention.
Today, all the students are here and they look good! Most of them are having a hard time communicating with the family, but they are trying their best. You should be very proud!! Here is what they said about their host family ... B, they are fun. B got lost yesterday on the way home! But luckily the family gave him cell phone with their numbers programmed. So he called them and found his way!"
Do I say I'm not surprised he got lost? He's a smart kid but his sense of direction is not so good. I think he's been riding a bike to and from the school. A boy got lost when E went to Japan too so at least B wasn't the first lost student.
