Relaxing day

Andy and E went golfing again this morning, different course than Tuesday. They did not come back happy. Too many water hazards on the course. I spent the morning at the pool reading. I actually finished the book.

Main (and only) pool at the resort. Very quiet in the morning, but got crowded every day around 11 a.m. and again at night.

After lunch, we drove to Bluffton, a nearby town. This house is their visitors center. That was our first stop.

We were able to walk around the house for free.

Trying to take an artsy shot.

Dining room. From the visitors center, we walked the historic area of the town. They were having a farmers market. It was really hot - surprised? - and humid. We all bought bottled water from a vendor.

Then we went to visit the Church of the Cross along the May River. "In 1863, Federal troops marched into Bluffton burning most of the town. Although the church was spared, its congregation fled."

The pink glass was really pretty. The church is still active. We went to a restaurant near our resort for dinner.

The kids were on their own for the night. L hopped on her bike and rode away. The other two biked later. E said returning from the beach after dark was kind of scary. There were no lights along the path.

Andy and I headed over to Shelter Cove where a singer was giving a Jimmy Buffet tribute concert. It wasn't good, but we grabbed two seats at a bar so we were able to sit, have a drink and people-watch.

Andy was fitting right in with his tropical shirt.
