Busy vacation day

This morning Andy's dream came true! He and E golfed at Harbour Town. He's seen the pros play the course so many times on TV and now was his chance. And he did pretty well. He came home happy so that's good. I spent the morning at the pool reading while B and L went their separate ways on their bikes. At least they're getting our money's worth out of them since I'm getting back on one.

E bought a shirt at the golf course. So did Andy, of course. I expected that.

Since they had to pay to drive into the community where the golf course was, and since they had a day pass, we headed back there for lunch at the Salty Dog. It's a popular restaurant right on the water.

Gator bites? No thanks.

We had the option of sitting outside (really, in this heat?) but we asked for a seat inside. The decor was interesting.

We walked around at some shops and onto a pier in Harbour Town after lunch.

We couldn't leave the area without going up in the lighthouse to see the view. It's usually painted red but it was in plaid because of the 50th anniversary of the PGA's RBC Heritage tournament that was held earlier this year.

Just 114 steps? I can do that.

This is inside the lighthouse as we were walking up. It's marked how many feet up you've gone so far and you can see into the gift shop at the bottom. They have lots of displays to read along the way.

B checking out the view.

A pic of me and Andy.

When we got back to the resort we noticed this sea turtle nest. They had it cordoned off. All over the island were signs about saving the sea turtles and turning lights out at 10 p.m. so they'll come ashore and lay their eggs.

From our room's balcony, we were able to watch the weekly fireworks show from the Shelter Cove area adjacent to our resort. L took this picture.
