Jam-packed Saturday

What a busy day! Andy went to church to make donuts at about 3 a.m. (I'm guessing, I was sleeping). We let parents and students drop off their baked goods at our house last night and Andy took them to the sale which is held in the church parking lot. He said it took him about 10 trips from the dining room to the car to get all the items in there.

Allison and I went to a community-wide garage sale in Berwyn. It was held in a parking garage so it could go on rain or shine. The weather has cooled down a lot so it was easy to take our time and look around. And people were pricing their things to sell.
I got this serving set and Christmas tree for $5 and a set of unused 12 Christmas napkins for $2. Also bought a glass butter dish which is surprisingly hard to find in stores.

While I was at the sale with Allison, Andy and E took Mayu to Naperville for a day of discussions about leaving the country and returning home and L was working the bake sale. She was there at 6:15 a.m. and stayed until it closed at 1 p.m. B and I took her lunch and a drink around 11:30. I parking illegally and B ran to the bake sale tent to give her the lunch. He also got a hug from sensei while he was there.

This is L's Pikachu costume she bought for a comic con but never wore. It did come in handy to promote the sale. A parent at the sale took this photo. L says she's in the costume, kneeling. It was definitely made for shorter people. Her friend, A, who's shorter, wore it and even sensei got in it and walked around. The video L took of her is hilarious.

This afternoon, Andy and I went with Julie and Kevin to a craft beer festival downtown.

While we were at the beer festival, E drove out to Naperville to pick Mayu up. Allison came over once we got home and Andy cooked out burgers. It was a little too chilly to sit outside.
