Holiday Home & Studio

By some miracle, I remembered that today the Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio was giving free tours of the house decorated for an early 1900s Christmas. Andy and I took Mayu over after he got back from golfing (nice weather in December so I guess you have to golf?). L had been to the Home & Studio on previous school field trips and wasn't persuaded to go just to see the Christmas decorations.

They had lots of poinsettias throughout the house. These were in the fireplace nook in the living room.

If you look through the windows of the living room, you can see the line of people waiting to get inside for the free tours. The line moved pretty quickly.

The dining room. I had to send Cindy a picture of the chairs because when Andy and I took her and Rob years ago, Rob kept touching a chair (accidentally, of course) and the tour guide was about to have a fit. She must have warned him at least three times.

The Christmas tree in the playroom.

Frank's office.

The tour is over. Time for hot chocolate and pastries, courtesy of Costco.

Then we picked up L, went to Target, Michaels and Costco, and finished with dinner at Red Robin. Here the girls are trying to fold origami cranes while we waited for our dinner.
