Taste of Irving

Tonight for dinner we headed over to Irving for the annual Taste of Irving potluck where families are encouraged to bring an ethnic dish to share. I brought meatballs in a chili sauce and grape jelly sauce. Not ethnic, I know, but they were gone in a flash. We brought Ai along to see the school.

We were fortunate that Ms. G was in her kindergarten room and let us come in to show Ai around. E and L gave Ai (notice the OPRF sweatshirt with the letters in sequins!) a tour of the entire school. I think she liked the potluck, especially since there were tortilla chips on the table. We had tortilla chips last night with dinner (lemon chicken tacos) and she kept saying how good they were. She likes them dipped in sour cream. I think the best part of the night was the reggae band (Ifficial Reggae Movement) in the auditorium. It reminded me of Jamaica.

After we got home, L and the girls were sitting on the sofa watching the now-famous goat videos and singing along. It's kind of amazing how many videos of this goat there are on YouTube. They were singing and laughing when I snapped this picture.

Tonight E and Ai plan to go cosmic bowling with the other hosts and their Japanese students. It starts at 10 p.m. and goes until midnight. We'll see if they can stay awake.
