9 inches

I've been telling L all winter to put her bike in the garage. Here's what it looked like this morning:

Hard to believe she'll (hopefully) be riding it around the neighborhood in a few weeks. The snow started falling Tuesday morning and continued all day. It looked like a snowglobe outside. In the end, we had 9 inches of snow. B and his friend, IR, went out shoveling sidewalks to try to earn some money. They ended up splitting $52. At one home, where one of their teachers lives, she invited them for hot chocolate to warm up. Can't beat that - money for shoveling and hot chocolate. The snow was so heavy it almost made a wall of snow on our ivy:

And my artistic shot of the gate:

Andy's work even closed up early. That hardly ever happens. The kids were hoping school was going to be closed Tuesday. No such luck. This meme I found on the high school's Facebook page is so true:

According to the school's archives, as posted by a fellow Irving mom on Facebook, "OPRFHS closed for snow as follows: March 25, 1930 - 14.2"; Jan 9, 1939 - 14.9"; Jan 27, 1967 - 24"; Jan 25, 1979 - 20.7"; and Feb. 2 & 3, 2011 – 20.1"
