Halloween decorations
Our neighborhood certainly knows how to decorate for Halloween. Seems to get bigger and better each year.

Happy hour puzzle
This was a fun puzzle. We've had it out quite a while. With me working it's taking us longer to complete them. B did quite a bit while I was at my scrapbooking weekend so I left the last piece for him to put in.
Funny.
Andy claims he has never heard the song, "In heaven there is no beer. That's why we drink it here." Then one day the morning news was at an Oktoberfest and they were playing it so I had to call him into the living room to prove I wasn't making it up.

Last donut day
The moon was absolutely gorgeous yesterday morning as I drove to church for my 6:30 a.m. donut shift.
Capt. Andy went in at 10 p.m. Friday night to start making the frosting for the end-of-the-year special donuts.
They were delicious. My shift was three hours outside and the line never slowed. We kept running put of donuts because the donuts had to cool before being frosted.
This was the inside operation.
Andy convinced his law partner Rob to come in and fry donuts.
The early outside operation. I was the coffee person but coffee is self-serve so I was helping give people their donuts.
Andy finished his captain shift then came outside to work as a cashier. He came home and slept while Allison and I went to a church rummage sale and found lots of goodies. After that, Andy woke up and we went grocery shopping. We were tired so we ordered pizza for dinner.

Fall at home
The sky being dark really made the color of the trees by us pop.
A bee on my marigolds.
Just in the last few days the leaves started falling and the trees are changing color. Found this huge leaf on the back stairs.
This ghost I hung by our garage got caught in our lights from the wind but it looks good that way. Hope it stays.
Mango aka Pina napping on our back porch with the neighbor's pretty tree in the background.

Work update
When the control key pops off the keyboard and lands in your shoe.
In other work news, I finally brought in the office chair Allison and I found at a yard sale for $10. I thought we needed it for our back porch but forgot we took one from Andy's office when they switched buildings.
Imagine my surprise when I opened a drawer in our children's area during a field trip and found this mink collar.
Beautiful tree in its fall glory by the museum.
We had a field trip and my co-worker was handing out these old magnets to the kids. I asked if I could have a couple and she said take as many as I wanted. E might end up with one of these in her Christmas stocking.

Bloodsuckers at the Field
Andy and I were back at the Field Museum last night for an opening reception for their new exhibit, "Bloodsuckers - Legends and Leeches." We brought Allison along. The museum was lit in pink for breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The talk before the dinner. It did make us all more interested in going through the exhibit. A little amazing that a scientist can spend their whole career studying horse flies.
This was one food station - antipasto skewers and corn muffins. Ugh.
The second food station was a little better - veggie skewers, chicken skewers and cauliflower. The chicken was dry. Andy came home and ate leftovers.
Desserts were good.
And, of course, we went through the exhibit.
Ways to kill a vampire.
Proof that people with O type blood (me!) get bit more often than others. But Andy's type O too and gets bit a lot less than I do.
The three of us at the reception.
The Blue Cross building with a breast cancer ribbon we saw on the way home.
