Service project
L went to the grocery store Friday night with her youth minister and two of her fellow youth group members to shop for nonperishables to give to clients of the local food pantry. The youth were buying enough food to make baskets for three families that would be distributed along with turkeys from the food pantry so the families could have a nice Thanksgiving dinner. Standing in line at the grocery store, L and our youth minister were discussing whether L would have enough money to buy this turkey decoration for her family. The answer was going to be no, but then the woman in line in front of L asked if they were buying food for others and when L said yes, she offered to pay for the turkey decoration. L and our youth minister thanked her profusely. What a nice gesture. L was thrilled.
At church yesterday L helped put the food in the gift baskets.
