Andy and I went downtown tonight to another Field Museum encounter event for members. We chose the talk about the 1893 Columbian Exposition and its "economic botany" that started the Field Museum's botany collection.
This board shows the botany building where many of the plant-made items were displayed during the world's fair.
The invitation mentioned light refreshments. They weren't kidding, as one man in line noted.
