Move-in day
Somehow miraculously we got all the stuff for E and B in the Buick this morning and headed south to Champaign to drop them off at college.
We followed the traffic pattern the school suggested and the traffic moved pretty well. We were given 20 minutes to park and unload before Andy had to find another parking space, but we were able to move him in without having to move the car. I think it only took 30 minutes.
We couldn't find an I-Guide who would give us a cart (I'm not sure how they were doling them out) so we dragged his things to his room ourselves. It only took a couple of trips and he's only on the second floor. The refrigerator was a bit challenging.
B's room at Snyder. We think it's a little larger than E's room was her freshman year. He's not sure whether he's going to leave the bed bunked so high or request a mid-loft. It's really high up now.
He made his bed before we left for lunch and we briefly met his roommate.
We had lunch at the Fire Haus and it took forever. The waitress warned us that food was taking an hour (!) to come out of the kitchen, but we were willing to wait. You don't realize how long an hour is until you're hungry. Even the appetizers took close to an hour to come to the table. She was good, though, at refilling our drinks.
After going to Walmart and spending $100 (mostly on food for E - apparently she's planning to cook a lot), we dropped B off at his dorm. So sad (for me).
Andy took a little rest in the chair in E's apartment. Her roommate moved in Sunday and already had requested a new mattress for E. She said it was more like a rhombus than a rectangle.
The mattress looks a little short to me, but it's a college apartment. She will make it work.
E looks happy in her kitchen.
E and her roommate, D. They also roomed together last year.
