Late this afternoon Andy, B and I drove into Chicago (with surprisingly light traffic) to attend the final meeting for his upcoming Japan trip with Whitney Young High School. The teacher had the students introduce themselves - that's B in the picture as his friend D introduces himself and friend A looks through a book of the school's last trip abroad - and we found out that one of the girls on the trip also is going to U of I in Urbana this fall. The meeting lasted about an hour and a half. Andy joked that Japanese teachers must take a class to learn how to stretch out what could have been a 15-minute meeting into an hour and a half. Of course, it took us a while to figure out where to park so we would've been a little upset if the meeting were over in 15 minutes!
