Yesterday was a fun, busy and surprising day at work. We had the mayor from Datteln, Germany, visit with his assistant, his wife, and the village president. As he was leaving he gave me and my co-worker a pen and keychain, and said we should visit Germany (as if Andy and I haven't been trying to do that since 2020!).
The man at the right, a local resident, was researching his mother's German roots and struck up a relationship with the mayor, Andrè Dora, and his assistant (at right). The mayor, our village president and the local man gave a presentation at Village Hall yesterday after touring the museum.
