Another distillery tour

Andy and I meet Julie and Kevin and Allison and Pat at the Quincy Street Distillery in Riverside tonight for a tour and tasting. The tour was long and in-depth. It's obvious the owner is passionate about his whiskey-making process.

Barrels used for aging and storage.

The whiskey distillation tower wasn't as impressive as the one we visited in November with Julie and Kevin, but he had a taller one in the room used for making vodka. His focus is on craft spirits, as they were historically made.

Time for the tastings. We must have been given samples of 10 different spirits. Not really my thing but the popcorn was good. I did like the labels on the bottles though, with references to different things around Riverside.

Andy smells a sample.

This was one of his favorites.

Cheers to Friday!

Julie and Kevin enjoying the tastings.

Allison and Pat at the bar. Afterward we went to Lavergne's in Berwyn for a late dinner. Good thing the girls were busy setting up for Japan Fest. We were able to pick them up from a friend's house on the way home.

As part of the Groupon we used for the tour, we were able to pick two glasses to take home. They had three to choose from and Andy chose two of the same style with different logos.
