Dad's Day

Today we took the girls to U of I for the Dad's Day party. It's so convenient to have E and B at the same school. We picked them up then went to the mall to get B a heavy winter coat.

We walked around the quad ...

... and saw lots of pro-Trump slogans written on the sidewalks. Someone changed the MAGA (Make America Great Again) to Gaga, for Lady Gaga, I guess.

E's sorority had planned a post-game tailgate on Grainger Grove, right outside Memorial Stadium. We found the perfect photo opp for L.

Here's E with her little sister from the sorority.

The sorority catered in food from Black Dog Smoke and Ale House. It was really good, but it was so cold outside - 40 degrees maybe?

I tried all three choices - barbecue chicken, brisket and made a little slider with the pork. They also had cornbread and mac and cheese.

Can't leave the football game without visiting the spirit store.

After the game, we walked around the campus bookstores and ended up at Paris Crepes for some ice cream.

L had the cookies and cream ice cream. They poured a mixture on a frozen table, then rolled the ice cream and put it in a cup. It looked pretty neat and tasted good. E had a drink in a lightbulb glass.

The crepes were really good.

Mayu even took a picture of hers. She got the matcha (green tea) ice cream.

Here we were dropping B back off at his dorm. He was up really late Friday night (Saturday morning) and had plans to go to a movie with his friends tonight. We got a picture of him with Mayu before we left. Mayu said B is "famous" in the high school's Japanese Club. They have mutual friends , who are now seniors at OPRF so it should be fun for her to show them the picture of her and B.
