Golf party

Both varsity and junior varsity girls before the awards ceremony:

Tonight was E's end-of-the-season golf party. E received a gold bar to put on her varsity letter. Her surprise, though, was her coach's creation of a new award, "Best Celebration," that he awarded to her. E said she was on the ninth hole against one of the Downers Grove teams and she "made a 20-foot putt, five feet off the green, for birdie. It was gorgeous." Coach said E did a double-fist pump to celebrate the putt. He said it's a putt he'll never forget.

Here's E getting her award from coach ...

and a hug.

Here's E with her freshman "little sister," I. E gave her the pillow she made the other night and I gave E a new ball marker.

We were able to talk B into going to the golf party with us and had planned to take L along, but the church was having its Halloween party tonight and although she was offered a ride home, we didn't want her coming home to an empty house. L worked her magic at school today, though, and baked up a plan with D, a friend from school and church, that we'd drive them both to the church and D's mom would keep L at their house until the party was over. It all worked out. L got to go to the church party and even won bingo.
