Even after I told her several times to make a copy of her driver's permit AND to keep the permit out of Andy's car and inside the house, E discovered yesterday that Andy drove to Midway Airport and parked with her permit in the car. This, of course, brought her to tears knowing she had to drive in class on Wednesday and she couldn't without her permit. Andy won't be home until late Wednesday.
Since she'd been warned several times not to leave the permit in Andy's car, there was no way I was driving to Midway to find his car. Apparently, I'd have to drive to short-term parking, take a shuttle to long-term parking, take an elevator and it would be right there. Really? I don't think so. Instead, we drove to the Melrose Park driver's license facility after school today and she paid the $5 to have a duplicate permit issued. Maybe she'll take better care of this one. On a positive note, E got of there within 20 minutes even though she had to stand in four different lines to get everything done.
