Campaign celebration

Andy and I went to the Field Museum last night for the celebration of the "Because Earth" campaign. We were there in 2018 when they kicked off the fund-raising campaign and celebrated the museum's 125th anniversary. They exceeded their goal and raised just over $316 million. We started off the evening with a happy hour on the second floor.
They wanted to do the cocktail hour outside but with the temps reaching 100 they moved everything indoors. This was the car's outdoor temperature by time we reached downtown.
The program and dinner were in Stanley Hall.
We weren't sure what to wear since the invitation didn't specify. It said parking would be by valet but the dinner would be a buffet. Hmmm. Kind of a contradiction. Andy wore a suit and I wore a long summery dress. Good thing they had these snacks on the tables. The program was long.
The had several stations for dinner We had cheeseburger sliders, a taco, schawarma and some salads.
Dessert was tasty. I took one bite of the cone thing, declared how good it was and dropped it on the floor.
We left with these musical sticks (Boomwhackers), a coloring book and colored pencils. We ended up with six Boomwhackers, according to Amazon it's the entire C major set. We think we'll give them to the preschool.
