L went on the coolest middle school field trip today - City Chase! The students rode the el downtown and went around with a group to find things on a scavenger hunt and photograph them. They spent the whole day downtown and rode the el back, of course. How much fun to be out of school and exploring Chicago with your friends? E's eighth-grade team never got to go on this field trip, but B's did and he still talks about it. In this picture she's holding a cupcake she bought from a pop-up bake sale in a pink taxi. Sales of the cupcakes went to support breast cancer research. When I told L the cupcake kind of looks like a boob, she told me I have the mind of an eighth-grader.
L's guy friends, J and A, acting silly. They were in her group and one other girl who L didn't really know, but said she was a lot of fun. L had Starbucks during the day (rude barista), ate lunch at Epic Burger (delicious burger and her nose started bleeding) and bought some candy at Dylan's Candy Bar. Sounds like quite the exciting day.
