Cindy came up last night by bus and today we took L downtown (and out of school) to visit the Christkindlmarket.
Cindy had a pretzel and a glass of spiced wine, Glühwein, in a souvenir mug. L had hot chocolate in her souvenir mug ($7).

We also shopped at Macy's where Cindy bought a nice purse on clearance and a plum-colored long dress for Tyler's wedding (estimated date - May 2015), and Crate & Barrel for some Christmas bowls and decor. We had lunch in the food court near Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue. L decided it was warm enough (high 30s) that she didn't need to wear her coat. We even navigated the El and found our way back home all by ourselves. L may look perky in the picture of the two of them waiting downtown for our Forest Park-bound train, but she came home and took a nap. Tomorrow it's back to school for her.
