Seattle sites

Andy and I got to O'Hare this morning with plenty of time to make our flight so we hung out in the United Club. Our flight was delayed from New Jersey. We arrived in Seattle this afternoon and took our rental (a Nissan Rogue) into downtown where we visited the Space Needle, Chihuly Glass Garden and the Pop Museum.

What a view!

Don't look down!

Andy was impressed with how big these bolts were.

My favorite tourist trap was Chihuly Garden. Such pretty glass.

These "flowers" were hanging in a meeting space ...

... and this was part of the display in the garden. It was breathtaking.

We had some time to kill before E would be off work so we stopped by the Pop Culture Museum. We got in free because we had the Chase Arts and Culture Card. The exhibits were OK but we were glad we didn't pay to go in. Andy did get to sit on Prince's motorcycle though.

And we got to see Prince wore in "Purple Rain."

And just after seeing Dorothy's shoes from "Wizard of Oz" in Washington, D.C., I got to see her dress. They also had the Cowardly Lion's costume and one of the flying monkey's costumes on display.

We met E after work at her apartment and walked over to the Microsoft campus.

Here's E in front of the building she works in. She walked us all over campus and we stopped for a while in the Microsoft store.

The welcome center had a historical display of Microsoft and Bill Gates' first business card from the '70s was on display. We had dinner at the Bellevue Brewing Company. We wanted to go to a Japanese BBQ restaurant but the wait was an hour and a half. Since we were still on Chicago time that was too long to wait to get some dinner.
