Celebrating Gloria

After nine and a half years of serving the church, first as the youth minister and most recently as associate pastor, our friend Gloria stepped down from her post. Today was her last service. She'll take some time away then plans to return to church in March as a member.
The church hosted a reception in her honor after service. Andy's in line for some food.
She helped keep the kids interested in church throughout their high school years. E will always be remembered for the church's disasterous haunted house one Halloween (Gloria said that event was a sure sign of God's grace), B enjoyed hanging out with her daughter (they're a year apart and went through Sunday school together, well known by all the teachers for their love of jokes and hatred for crafts) and L is so close to her they text. She even took L out for a going-away-to-college lunch.
And this evening my group of friends took her out for a celebratory dinner at Maya Del Sol. I had the chicken enchiladas and they were really good. We had a great time. As we were leaving I told Gloria that L probably thinks she's stepping down because L is no longer around. She laughed and said that might be because she may have told her that. Aww.
