L was on the Quad with a friend today when she said this huge hawk flew right in front of them.
Here it's in a tree outside of Altgeld Hall. She said it grabbed a squirrel with its talons, the squirrel made a noise and fell out of the tree. Then the hawk flew away. She wasn't sure if the squirrel was dead or just fell out of the tree. Either way, sounds like the hawk didn't want his dinner.
