To Seattle!

Andy and I flew to Seattle this morning to help E get settled into her new apartment.

Because of the snow and ice we sat in the plane for 2.5 hours before it took off. We were de-iced then had to get de-iced again.

But we made it! We rented a pickup truck because we knew we'd be hauling some furniture this weekend. We decided we didn't like the pickup truck and it didn't have the bells and whistles we're used to. We're so spoiled.

Our GPS got us lost in Redmond but we saw some incredible houses.

Success! We found our girl. She was wearing a hat she knitted the night before. Guess she's kind of bored with no TV, no belongings to pack away, no sewing machine, no car and not many people in the building.

Our first stop was IKEA. She bought two stools for her kitchen counter, a bed frame, sofa and TV stand. Good thing we had the pickup truck.

We borrowed two luggage racks from the mailroom to bring the heavy boxes to her fourth-floor apartment. It's nice that there are only a few residents in the building. The elevators were always easy to access while we were moving things in.

The first project was to put together the stools. Good thing we packed a toolbox in our checked bag.

Project No. 2 for the night was the sofa.

And it's done! We saved the rest of the furniture building for the next day.

Time to relax and grab some dinner.
