Mission accomplished

Andy and I went shopping for new bedroom furniture this morning. Our current set is 20 years old, the drawers don't open all the way and some of the glides are broken. It's time. When we stepped out the door we saw the aftermath of the girls' New Year's celebration. Apparently, it was so cold they didn't go outside; they just stood near the back door and shot the confetti poppers toward the porch.

Did I mention it's cold? This was the temperature on the way to the furniture store.

We went to Darvin Furniture in Orland Park. I knew it was south of here but I was a little surprised at how far south. Feels like we drove forever. Here's Andy textng with L when he should be shopping.

So we ended up getting a tall chest and this dresser ...

... in this color. Solid wood and supposedly Amish made.

And this bed ...

with underneath storage on both sides! I almost had Andy persuaded to buy the furniture in this gray color but he's a traditionalist so we went with brown. It is being ordered and should be delivered by the end of the month. That's going to be a project switching all of our clothes from one set to the other.

And if you've ever wondered where all those encyclopedias we used in the '70s and '80s ended up, they're on bookshelves in furniture stores.
