I had to post this picture of the kids on the Fourth of July in 2006. We were visiting Mount Rushmore and we were trying to get a nice picture to send out with our Christmas cards. It was so hot. Even though they look miserable it's one of my favorite pictures of them from one of my favorite vacations.
This afternoon we went back to our friend L's house for another house concert, this one featuring Michelle Malone, and a July Fourth barbecue. Once again, the kids were doing their own thing. E was out to dinner with P and L went to a friend's July Fourth party and blew off a lot of fireworks. One, she said, blew the gutter off a neighbor's home. Yikes. And she had video. Scary video. B went to the local fireworks show at the high school with his friend IR and because IR's dad works for the high school, they got to sit in the skybox of the football stadium to watch the show. Sweet.
