For years, Andy and I have had plans to turn our backdoor staircase 90 degrees and to create a landing in front of the door. Construction started yesterday.
When we had the central air installed, they put the condenser on the back sidewalk and we put down some concrete bricks to create a makeshift walkway around it.
Those bricks have been falling apart and make it difficult to carry groceries in the house. We tried patching part of it last summer, but it's just not strong enough.
We should be able to hide the air conditioner with some plantings.
Our plan is to remove that sidewalk and put in pavers from the new stairs to the existing patio, as well as create a landscaping plan for the entire back yard and finally get it leveled.
