Thank you note

I knew when I saw the writing on the envelope that this note came from sensei. I sent some Christmas cookies for her to school with L before the break. Not sure if the "Um Wow" on the card refers to the cookies or to my reaction when I opened the card and saw this:

I could read the word "basement." I suppose she figured with three Japanese students and one fluent Japanese speaker in the house, I could easily have it translated.

More shopping and a party

I took Cindy and the girls out to a local shopping area this morning. Here the girls are in Target with Santa hats on.

We all got frappuccinos before we left the store - energy for the next few stores!

This afternoon, Andy and I went to our friend L's annual smorgasbord. Her table was beautifully set with Swedish foods. We opted for the American food (ham, peas and scalloped potatoes) that was served in another room. I did have some Swedish meatballs though!

Easter eggs

The kids were home from school today because of an institute day for the teachers. After going grocery shopping and taking E to the dentist, we decided to dye Easter eggs. Each kid made seven. I think E wins for most creative egg - a British flag in honor of the upcoming royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
