Back from Hawaii!

Andy and I left Friday, March 2, for Honolulu and returned about 4:30 a.m. Monday, March 12. What a week. Lots of time to explore all of Oahu.

We stayed at Disney's Aulani resort. It was full of kids, as expected. Good thing we had a rental car for the week so we could go see the sites. There are Mickey Mouse heads appliqued in the quilt design.

Nice bathroom.

These koi fish in front of one of the restaurants were huge. We were in rrom 1654 on the 16th floor and could see the fish from our balcony.

View of the ocean from Aulani's pool area.

Pools were crowded with kids.

They did have an adults (18 and older only) pool and two whirlpools.

The turn from the highway to the Ko Olina resort area. It's a golf course community and Andy loved driving by it every day. He didn't play though.

Saturday we explored a bit.

We visited the Dole Plantation. It was so commercialized. We watched a pineapple-cutting demonstration and the woman giving the presentation obviously hated her job. That made it kind of enjoyable in an odd way.

That evening we had reservations at the Paradise Cove luau.

I'm getting a temporary tattoo (a turtle) from a Hawaiian guy. It was a turtle and it didn't last through a shower. Kind of like face-painting but anywhere on your body you'd want it.

A picture by the ocean.

Pre-dinner show ...

... and after-dinner show.
