Japanese taco dinner
L said she made tacos (Mayu's suggestion) for her family's dinner tonight. She also made lime cilantro Rice-a-Roni. She said they liked it!
She had this bread as part of her breakfast. She said it's made out of rice and it's delicious.
L with her friend, A. Look at their cute uniforms.
We think her host sister is the one on the right.
L is loving this. I think it's the same kind of cream puff dessert she had the other day ...
... I hope she brings one home.
These are her host family's pets.
Sensei's update:
Our students are well, for the most part. Fatigue and jet-lag. Here, they need to always pay attention so that they won't miss anything. They have to listen really carefully all of the time and try to understand what is going on, and that is very tiring. Some students are feeling sick (If you didn't hear from us individually, your student is fine.....so far). But! Students continue to take care of each other. If they see someone looking tired or ill, they encourage the person to sit or visit nurse's office. If someone is sitting alone, they try to check on the student. We are very impressed about that.
There were no classes today. Students prepared for the school festival all day. They were building, cutting, painting, etc. Our students helped prepare for the event. Since it was a more casual day, and students were able to walk around, instead of sitting in classrooms, there were more interactions between Japanese students and American students. Like I told you before, our students get A LOT of attention. They walk by Japanese students and the Japanese students were screaming at them ... They want pictures taken with our students, they want to shake their hands etc. Our students are just not used to this kind of attention, so it was amusing to watch them surrounded by their screaming fans, for the first time in their life ... and probably last. Your children are famous!!
