L is the only kid home so it was up to her to get my Mother's Day gift, in consultation with the siblings, of course. They decided on a cheesecake platter with chocolate-covered fruit and fresh-baked cookies. L is incredibly disappointed that the cookies are obviously store-bought and already called customer service before she even gave it to me. She's looking for a refund. The cookies are lame, but the cheesecake is good. It's definitely not what she ordered.
And she bought the world's biggest Mother's Day card. I told her it won't fit on the mantel, where we put all of our cards, but she proved me wrong.
From "your three favorite kids." Yup. We were going to order steak from Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner but the queue on phone to even place an order was incredibly long. We ordered Lou Malnati's pizza instead.
