L came home from school so excited, telling me she received two "Eagle Essentials" slips for the weekly raffle. Teachers and staff give students the slips for doing unexpected, kind gestures as a way to promote positive behavior.
It seems one of L's friends got hit in the nose with a ball during lunch recess and the girl's nose started to bleed. L took her friend, who's in a special ed class, to the nurse's office and stayed by her friend's side the whole time the nurse cared for her. When everything was under control, the nurse asked L to walk her friend back to class. The friend's teacher gave L two "Eagle Essentials" slips for being so helpful and caring.
You should have seen L's face beaming as she told the story. It makes a mom proud.
