The reception

I followed instructions uesterday and didn't take any pictures during the ceremony, as difficult as that was. I did get one of the happy couple after the ceremony as they were setting up other photos. It was a beautiful ceremony and we were all happy that our friend, G, was the officiant. The ceremony started at 3 p.m. which was perfect because the sanctuary always looks the best in the afternoon as the sunlight shines through the west side stained glass.
Thought I should take a picture of my corsage while it still looked nice so I did that on the drive to Cantigny. We made pretty good time and were the first to arrive, even after staying in the church for some quick family pictures. Good thing I took the picture when I did because one of the roses fell out while I was dancing. It was quite the party.
We walked around outside since the reception room wasn't finished being set up. They have some of the Christmas decorations up. Looking at this picture now I think the Christmas trees look like green horns on Andy's head. Onviously not the best angle.
Our mirror project turned out well!
Andy and his friend, C, who was our best man.
The groomsmen walking into the reception. They walked fast but I managed to get a picture of B.
Everyone waved their napkins as the bride and groom walked in.
Andy gave a speech.
Time for dinner! Everything was very tasty and the tables were beautiful. The DJ played nice music during dinner. I recall a lot of '80s songs and at least one by The Police, Andy's favorite. E said D created the dinner playlist. NIce job, son.
Me and Cindy. Cousin A was there too but I don't have a picture of him. Hmmm.
Such a sweet picture of E and B.
Allison and family.
How cute is this cake?
L wasn't seated at our table but she did pop over a few times to talk to us. I think the photographer has a prodessional picture of this one. She and W stayed until 9 p.m. but Ubered to our hotel, a nearby Hyatt House (two bedrooms, a kitchen, living area with sleeper sofa in case B opted to stay with us too. He chose to take the wedding party trolley back to The Carleton and walked home). L and W had been on the run since they flew in so they understandably wanted to relax.
E gave a short speech. I didn't use my flash and as the night went on, the pictures got darker and blurry.
B chatting with Cousin C and her fiance, M. Theirs will be the next wedding we expect to attend.
The daddy-daughter dance to "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack. After that, the DJ got the party going. The wedding party was quite the dancing bunch and everyone had a lot of fun on the dance floor. Those groomsmen were fun to watch and dance with. We left around 11 p.m. and the party was going strong. E and D danced to The Carpenters' "They Long to Be, Close to You" and had a smoke machine that made it look like they were dancing in the clouds.
E with Allison and Pat. Should have used the flash.
