Amish countryside

L had some work commitments this morning so us girls explored Amish country. Our first stop was a thrift shop in Mount Joy on our way to Lancaster. This is the Lancaster Central Market, full of fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, jams and honeys.
Then we drove east. Lots of corn fields and open spaces.
This cute store was our first stop.
Cindy kept feeding the goats. She'd put a quarter in the gumball machine full of food and they'd come running.
This goat looks curious.
This farm had a big quilt and craft shop. Their yard was so nicely decorated. Look at the clothes drying on the line.
So many quilts. They had them all labeled with the quilt design.
I really liked this design, Cathedral Window. Hint, hint, E. Most of the quilts I saw were $800 to $1,200. Beautiful.
It was getting warm so I ate the whoopie pie I bought at the previous stop ...
and bought an ornament here.
They had pictures of puppies by the cash register and I asked what breed they were. The girl told me they are Cavapoos (a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a poodle) and said we could go out to the barn to see them. So cute.
At another store we were able to sample shoofly pie. Lots of sugar in that pie.
We saw lots of horses and buggies.
We got a little turned around trying to get to L for her birthday festivities to begin but we saw a lot more of Amish country. These men were baling hay.
The same men baling from a different angle after we turned around and were headed to Hershey.
