Saturday on the go
Andy was already gone golfing when I left home for my 6:30 a.m. donut shift. Today I was outside as a donut server with my friend G, friend J as cashier and friend C as coffee server. I had to stand for three hours but there was lots of fun conversation.
Allison came over when I got home and we went to some yard sales. I got these gray napkins, 17 of them when I got home and counted, from a husband whose wife had to go do something and put him on yard sale duty. I saw a $1 price tag and asked if it was $1 per napkin or all for $1. He said he didn't really know and said he'd take a dollar for all of them. I paid, grabbed them and left before the wife returned. I also found a tablecloth for $1 and inside the bag was an unexpected set of 12 matching napkins.
I got home and made a new dip for our church's happy hour. It made a lot. I probably should have known when it started with a brick of cream cheese and two cups of sour cream. Andy's contribution to the partyvwas a container off Pringles - grilled beer brat flavor - an impulse buy at the grocery store. They weren't as bad as we antipated. Won't be buying them again though.
Here's the recipe for the dip. It went over pretty well at the happy hour but if I make it again, I'd half the recipe. I served it with tortilla chips.
The morning at donuts was chilly but the afternoon warmed up to be perfect when it was time for the happy hour on the church lawn.
