I went with my church's 150th anniversary co-chair to tour possible gala venues yesterday. This is Pleasant Home. We can seat 100 for a dinner here. A couple more pictures:
This is the main room where a dinner would be served.
Pretty space and so many architectural details to see.
Then we drove a few blocks away for the next venue. Both are owned by our park district. This is the library at Cheney Mansion. We can have more people seated here, and even more for a cocktail party.
This is the solarium. I love the original blue tile floor. There's also a patio and greenhouse we could rent. A few more pictures:
Beautifully landscaped grounds. They host a lot of weddings. We're looking at September or October 2024 for the gala and they already have two of those Saturdays booked!
This is the fireplace in the main dining room.
Outside of the mansion. We have one more venue to tour this afternoon. We'll make a presentation about the options, costs, etc., to the church at the congregational meeting in January.
