The cats like to take screws from Andy's downstairs workroom and leave them all over the house. They won't play with toys from the stores but they love screws (and hair ties). I usually toss the screws into my junk drawer and when I cleaned it out the other day, I was able to fill a good third of a spaghetti sauce jar with screws.
