L went with the youth group to see the lights at Brookfield Zoo this afternoon. Here she is with her friend, R. The youth leader sent out an email at about 3 p.m. before the group left, saying she expected them to return around 7 p.m. because it was cold. Apparently, this is a hearty group of kids because she got dropped off at home about 8:15 p.m. The light-up necklaces were a gift for each kid from the church.
L wanted to get creative this afternoon so we decided to make some Rice Krispie peanut butter balls. She didn't want to roll them with her hands so she used a cookie scoop, resulting in not-so-round balls. She packed a bunch up and shared them with the kids in her youth group. After they ate them, she said, she calls the balls reindeer poop. They said that took away a little from how good they tasted. Probably would be best to come up with a new name.
