Random Disney

Some Disney pictures that seem a bit random. We'll start with our silly girl.
Had to stop at Walmart to get sunscreen. It also had a Minnie head made out of balloons.
Um, no.
My eye is one the new spirit jerseys that have the lettering in the same color as the shirt. This green one is Tinker Bell-themed. Cute, but would I wear it in "real life," meaning not at Disney? I'll have L keep an eye out for it at the cast discount store. I'd never pay $80 for it.
This Mickey head, beachball pillow is $40. Yikes.
We watched the country bears show at Magic Kingdom as we waited to get in the DVC members' lounge. I was fascinated with the talking deer head.
We were in Room 5706 at Baylake - almost all the way at the end of the hall. The newer, cushier carpet is close to the elvator, the it switches to the old, stained carpet. Our room was farther down the hall. L told us we have to ask to be near an elevator. We will definitely be making that request for our next trip.
Allison sent us this picture on Monday. August must have gotten hungry. He tore into a single Hawaiian roll I had leftover from Easter. It was sitting out on the kitchen counter.

Last Disney day

Good Tuesday morning from Bay Lake Tower.
We went to Hollywood Studios. Hard to believe they are going to change the Rock 'n Roll Coaster to a Muppet theme. Boo, Disney.
L and T met us there but they went on the roller coaster ...
While we watched the Indiana Jones stunt show. [Andy's idea).
I was more entertained watching this bug.
We had to get a beer and a snack at our favorite people-watching spot, the BaseLine Tap House.
Andy even went back and got a pretzel.
L and T went back to their apartment for some pool time.
Looks relaxing.
Andy and I were in the United Club when he started playing around with the United app and unknowingly changed our flight from 6 p.m.-something to 4 p.m.-something. He didn't realize it until he got a text saying we were boarding. Our bags, though, took the 6 p.m. flight.
Weird flight pattern coming home. We had to go farther west than usual because of storms in southern Illinois. Allison picked us up and by time we got home, it was time for Andy to drive back to O'Hare to pick up our luggage.

Disney Monday

Andy was busy Monday morning making reservations for E and D's honeymoon. At least he wasn't working.
L came over to our resort and she took us to a cast-only store where I found a T-shirt I had seen in the parks on our December trip. Then we went to Epcot.
Here we are on the boat ride in the Mexico pavilion.
L tried to nap in our room while Andy and I went to the pool. They were doing construction on the floor right above us so it was loud.
We went off property for an early dinner to get happy hour specials.
It was pretty nice.
Lots of food options.
Cheers!
We got caught in a quick downfall on the way back to the resort. We saw a rainbow!

Disney Day 2

View Sunday morning from the patio of our studio at Saratoga Springs before we packed up and moved to Bay Lake Tower for the rest of our stay.
We went to Magic Kingdom and got soaked sitting in the first seat of Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
We went to the new DVC lounge at Magic Kingdom to check it out and they gave both us a pin.
We had a couple of Cokes then left. It was cold in there but it would feel great on a summer day.
This couple, along with a lot of other people, were dressed up for "Dapper Days." They were mostly wearing Disney-inspired costumes, sort of 1940s looking, but most had full skirts. And heels. Short heels but who would want to do that?
L wanted us to go to the Yacht and Beach Club to meet her supervisors but when we got there she was on break. We did get to see some characters, though.
Here's Donald Duck chatting it up with the DVC rep.
We walked through Epcot. The Flower and Garden Show was happening.
They do a great job with the topiaries.
. On the way to our studio room at Bay Lake.
They had a towel Mickey on our bed to greet us.
When L got off work she met us at Bay Lake.
We took a boat to Wilderness Lodge to eat at Whispering Canyon. Such a pretty resort.
Andy and L had the meat skillet while I had the steak.
On the boat back to Bay Lake we were able to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Made it to Disney

Allison drove us to O'Hare Saturday morning to head to Florida. This was our view from the United Club. I like to sit where I can see the planes.
The flight was good (we both watched the Bob Dylan movie, "A Complete Unknown." so good!) but when we got to the Orlando airport, the luggage belt broke so they couldn't get our bags into the baggage claim. Our flight waited around an hour and a half for our bags to come inside and they moved the baggage claim number for us too. Argh. We didn't get to Saratoga Springs until 4 p.m. L and T were already in the room waiting for us.
L got her cake. Mission accomplished.
We took her outside for a few graduation photos.
This is my favorite.
This is nice too.
Aw, the roomies.
On the way to Disney Springs for dinner.
L and T met us for dinner at Frontera Cocina.
Very pretty inside.
L had a fancy, pink margarita. T isn't 21 until the end of the month so it was water for him.
Dinner is served - chicken enchiladas for me, steak quesadillas for Andy, steak tacos for L and shrimp tacos for T.
